Consumer Price Index
The consumer Price index (CPI) is a measure of the average change over time in the prices of consumer items; goods and services that people buy for day-to -day living. The index is usually computed monthly and yearly, as a weighted average of sub-indices for different components of consumer expenditure, such as food, housing, shoes, clothing.
